Scheme Overview :
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a government initiative aimed at offering free electricity to Indian households. Objectives :
The Rooftop Solar Yojana, also known as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, aims to provide 300 units of free electricity monthly to illuminate one crore households. The scheme’s primary goal is to lower household electricity expenses through the installation of rooftop solar panels and utilization of solar power.
By encouraging the adoption of rooftop solar panels, this initiative seeks to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources, promoting a shift towards sustainable energy practices. It emphasizes the adoption of clean and sustainable energy solutions.

Eligibility :
To qualify for the scheme, the household must meet the following criteria :

- They must own a housewith a suitable roof for solar panel installation.

- The household should not have previously availed any other subsidy for solar panels.
